is the engine which determines the quality of life in a community. If development is healthy, residential property taxes are decreased and jobs are plentiful. It is a major player in the Dulles Region and our Economic Development Committee follows the development trail across our two counties and the Town of Herndon. Closely aligned with economic development is Infrastructure, especially transportation. With a population well over a million in Northern Virginia, and with most of the growth occurring in the Dulles Region, we actively monitor and share with our legislators our business-friendly opinions on proposals affecting the network of roads, rail and air. And finally, dense populations bring with them a special need to apply green principles to life around us, led by our Environmental Committee.
