Today's #leadership quote

"Never forget that when we are silent, we are one. And when we speak we are two." Indira Gandhi

It takes courage to provide your opinion and speak your mind especially when that opinion conflicts with that of the vocal majority. If you disagree with the commonly held or better said communicated belief, you run the risk of both rejection and humiliation if you go public with your belief. You are certain to face opposition or even ridicule if you come forward. Perhaps it is far safer to remain in the shadows with silent dissent. After all you may not be right and there is no sense creating conflict when it can be avoided by remaining silent and in the shadows. If you don't have the courage to speak up however you forfeit your ability to make a difference and to advance the argument. You allow the vocal few to establish the direction when often they are blinded by false idols. Unfortunately there are many whose natural tendency is to remain silent letting the few establish the direction of many. If you dissent and believe strongly in an opposing direction it is your responsibility to make your position known. Others will follow and even if you don't win the day, you will at a minimum make others think, creating a discussion, thereby making an impact. Be bold Be brave and be heard.
