NextStop Theatre Company is the premier professional theatre company of the Dulles Corridor region. Located in the Town of Herndon, and less than a mile from the Reston Town Center, NextStop is a one-of-a-kind, intimate, 104-seat live performance venue where audiences are never more than 20 feet from the stage. NextStop Theatre Company is a professional, not-for-profit theatre company whose mission is to foster connections in our local community through theater programs that inspire, educate, entertain, and create meaningful experiences.
NextStop is dedicated to building the bonds of community, where engaged citizens can gather to discuss and learn about diverse perspectives through theatre. We produce high quality productions that motivate, educate, and inspire audiences and run educational programs which foster a love for the performing arts in youth. With each day, we add positivity and creativity to our community through theatre.
NextStop has become the premier professional theater company of the Dulles Region and a respected member of the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area theater community, serving thousands of audiences annually. We operate our own professional performing arts venue in the Town of Herndon and produce high quality productions and programs that have garnered numerous awards and accolades from both critics and our colleagues. We present live dramatic works (plays, musicals, family shows), improvisational comedy, and special events to the general public. Over the past ten years, we have produced over 75 productions, built a vibrant arts education program, and served tens of thousands of local patrons and students.
NextStop has received recognition for its work through multiple Helen Hayes awards and nominations. In 2019 we were honored by ARTSFAIRFAX with the Emerging Arts Award. That same year the Catalogue for Philanthropy named us “one of the best small charities in the Greater Washington region”.
