May 12, 2016: Governor signs legislation to transform Virginia high school graduation requirements

Thursday, May 12, Gov. Terry McAuliffe signed legislation directed to transform how high schools prepare their students for the future. Despite its popularity, not all high school students are destined to attend college.  Some would be moving straight into the workforce, but Gov. McAuliffe explains that there’s a lack of preparatory resources for these students.  Moreover, the foundation Virginia high schools are based on is out of date.
