As a die hard Bills fan it was painful to watch the game yesterday but knowing that the team has a leader of Sean McDermott's character cushions the blow a bit. Sometimes being a leader can be a lonely calling. You can surround yourself with great people and you can collaborate with others to get to what you think is the optimal plan but at the end of the day you are going to face some difficult decisions that only you can make. At those times you have to be decisive and willing to move forward in a positive direction. You know going in that all of those decisions will not necessarily have a positive outcome but you need to have the courage to make them and the accountability to take the massive action required to implement to the best of your ability. When the outcome you envisioned doesn't occur you need to accept responsibility change course and fail forward. Leadership requires difficult decisions and they won't always deliver the desired results but you do the best you can with the information at hand and prepare to adjust when the situation calls for it
