The Rotary Club of Herndon-Reston elected member Jane Nash as President for the 2022-2023 year, beginning this month with an induction by District Governor Sheila Brennan. Jane serves as Public Image and Webmaster Chair for the club. She brings Rotary experience as a previous member and Secretary of the Rotary Club of Sterling and membership in the Rotary 7610 EClub. She is a Paul Harris Fellow, named for the founder of Rotary in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given by this global nonprofit organization for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.
With 33 years in the fitness industry, Jane is an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist, ACE Certified Group Exercise Instructor and NSCA and ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Owner of JaneNashFitness, LLC, a corporation she established in 2017. She was the former Fitness Director of an over-55 active adult community association.
With the assistance of Executive Secretary Richard Ramsburg, Treasurer Dr. Tom Finley, Past President/Fundraising Chair Don Owens, and Community Service Chair Elysa Birman, and a total of 53 active and dedicated members, Jane looks forward to addressing the Herndon and Reston communities and global needs in collaboration with the over 46,000 Rotary clubs and 1.4 million members around the world.
The Rotary Club of Herndon-Reston meets for breakfast two mornings a month at Jimmy’s Old Town Tavern, has a virtual Zoom meeting once a month, and holds a mixer for members and guests after work once a month. Jane works in collaboration with President Elysa Birman of the Herndon-Reston Satellite Club, which meets two evenings a month, and has started an annual Candyland holiday gift shopping project for children and the Kids Helping Kids Fun Bike-a-Thon in partnership with Herndon’s Green Lizard Cycling and Foundation.
